How do I measure my window to purchase the correct swiveling window sill from frischluft?

Measuring can easily go wrong, so we want to go over in detail how to measure your window to select the right frischluft product in the shop. We'll specifically address various special cases that occasionally occur and clearly show you where a frischluft will fit and where it won't.

1. Selecting the correct opening direction

Choose the correct image in the shop under point 1 to indicate where your window handle is located. This is crucial to ensure you receive the correct frischluft product.

2. Selecting the correct board length

To ensure the window can still open fully, the frischluft is designed to be slightly shorter than the total width of the window, intentionally not running across the entire span. To determine the appropriate board length for your frischluft, open the window completely to 90 degrees and measure from the wall to the end of the window, as shown in the image. Then, select the next smaller size in the shop. For example, if you measure 74 cm, choose the 70 cm board in the shop.

3. Selecting the correct frame width

The frame width should be measured with particular precision, as just a few millimeters can make a big difference. Always measure the smaller dimension at the front, as shown in the image, even for more rounded frames. A slope or curve is generally not an issue since the frischluft doesn't rely on friction with the window but rather forms a secure fit through its design.

3. The following window frames are not compatible with frischluft:

Triple-glazed windows are often problematic, but you can check to see if, like some of our customers, it might still work for you. These windows often have too little surface area in front of the glass; this surface must be at least 17mm deep. Additionally, the frame is often too thick; it should be no more than 20mm thick with a slightly compressed seal.

Furthermore, attachments on the window, such as pleated blinds, may interfere with the frischluft. Clip-on pleated blinds, for instance, won't work, and even drilled pleated blinds might collide with the Frischluft's surface area.
